Prabhas’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Rakes in Rs 298.5 Crore in Just Two Days: Box Office Records Shattered!

Kalki 2898 AD” grossed approximately Rs 50 crore nett in India on Friday. Starring Prabhas, the film is nearing the Rs 298.5 crore mark.

Despite a slow Friday at the box office, “Kalki 2898 AD” kept audiences engaged. The sci-fi drama, featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, earned around Rs 50 crore nett (early estimates) on its second day, bringing its two-day total to approximately Rs 298.5 crore nett.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is being praised for its visual spectacle, and collections are expected to rise starting Saturday. Given that Friday is a working day, the Rs 50 crore nett collection in India is impressive. This performance is on par with Prabhas’s “Salaar-Part I: Ceasefire,” which also earned around Rs 50 crore on its second day. Comparatively, Prabhas’s biggest hit, “Baahubali 2,” stood at Rs 90 crore on its second day, while “Adipurush” lagged behind with Rs 65.25 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD” opened with Rs 95.3 crore nett in India and a gross of approximately Rs 175 crore worldwide, according to trade website sacnilk. Interestingly, the drop on Friday was mainly from the Telugu market, where it had an opening of Rs 65.8 crore. On the second day, the Hindi version maintained its Rs 20 crore business, while the Telugu version collected around Rs 24โ€“25 crore. This trend is unusual, as the Telugu market was expected to sustain higher numbers.

Another interesting aspect is the potential for significant weekend growth in northern regions, where ticket sales are picking up. “Kalki 2898 AD” is projected to achieve a four-day weekend total of around Rs 500 crore. This ambitious target requires the film to nearly double its daily earnings in India. While mixed word-of-mouth may pose a challenge, strong Saturday sales could make this goal achievable.
