India Shines at Paris 2024 Olympics: Manu Bhaker Makes History and More Stunning Victories!

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh earned the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze on Tuesday, adding to Bhaker’s previous bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the same venue.

On Day 4, Indian shooter Manu Bhaker made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win multiple Olympic medals in a single edition. After her bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, she teamed up with Sarabjot Singh to secure another bronze for India in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. This victory also marked the first time an Indian pair has won a medal in a team event at the Olympics.

Bhaker and Singh proudly posed with their bronze medals, celebrating their achievement at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Hockey

The Indian hockey team continued its strong performance with a commanding 2-0 victory over Ireland in a Pool B match. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh led by example, scoring twice and helping India move closer to the quarterfinals.

Badminton

Star Indian shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty secured a dominant 21-13, 21-13 win over Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto. With this victory, they became the first Indian pair to reach the quarterfinals in the men’s doubles event at the Olympics.

Boxing

It was a tough day for Indian boxers, as Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboria, and Preeti Pawar faced defeats in their respective bouts.

Shooting

Prithviraj Tondaiman was eliminated from the men’s trap shooting event after finishing 21st out of 30 competitors.

Rowing

India’s Balraj Panwar finished fifth in his quarterfinal heat of the men’s single sculls event.

Archery

Ankita Bhakat experienced a narrow 4-6 loss against Poland’s Wioleta Myszor in the women’s individual 1/32 round. However, Bhajan Kaur advanced to the women’s individual pre-quarterfinals with victories over Indonesia’s Syifa Nurafifah Kamal (7-3) and Poland’s Wioleta Myszor (6-0).

Dhiraj Bommadevara defeated Czech Republic’s Adam Li 7-1 in the men’s individual 1/32 round but was later edged out 5-6 by Canada’s Eric Peters in the men’s individual 1/16 round.

Hockey

Skipper Harmanpreet Singh scored twice, leading India to a 2-0 victory over Ireland in a Pool B match.

Badminton

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty triumphed over Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto 21-13, 21-13, securing a place in the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto suffered a 15-21, 10-21 loss to Australia’s Syifa Nurafifah Kamal.

Boxing

Amit Panghal lost 1-4 to Zambia’s Patrick Chinyemba in the men’s 51kg round of 16. Jaismine Lamboria faced a unanimous decision loss against the Philippines’ Nesthy Petecio in the women’s 57kg round of 32, while Preeti Pawar narrowly lost 2-3 to Colombia’s Yeni Marcela Arias in the women’s 54kg round of 16.
