Bad Newz Trailer: Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk Battle for Triptii Dimri’s Love in Exotic Comedy – Must Watch

The Bad Newz trailer features plenty of exotic locations, one-liners, and glossy dance numbers as Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk’s characters duke it out over Triptii Dimri.

The first trailer for the romantic comedy film Bad News promises ‘kalesh’ on July 19. A spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Good Newwz, which featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, the new film also revolves around pregnancies and parenthood, and stars ‘national crush’ Triptii Dirmi alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk.

While billed as a three-header, Bad Newz appears to centre around Triptii’s character. She discovers that she’s pregnant, but doesn’t know who the father is. It could be one of two men, the ‘hero number 1’ Akhil Chaddha (Vicky) and ‘hero number 2’ (Ammy). While Akhil is a loud Punjabi, Ammy is a more timid personality. At the recommendation of her best friend, played by Neha Dhupia, Triptii agrees to get the two men to take a paternity test, and in a somewhat surprising move, the trailer reveals the unexpected results: they are both the fathers, because of an extremely rare scientific occurrence.

Hijinks ensue as the three main characters learn to live with their unusual predicament. But the ‘baap of all wars’ begins between the two men as Triptii’s character puts them through the paces to figure out who among them is best suited to be the father. In typical Dharma Productions fashion, there are plenty of exotic foreign locations, glossy song and dance numbers, and screwball comedy. But there’s also drama, heartbreak, and a copious amount of tears. Vicky gets all the one-liners in the trailer, while Ammy plays his foil, and Triptii is reduced to being a spectator.

Directed by Anand Tiwari, who previously directed Vicky in the Netflix film Love Per Square Foot, Bad Newz will be released in theatres on July 19, a week after the hotly anticipated Indian 2. Good Newwz was released in 2019, and went on to gross over Rs 300 crore worldwide.
