The 27-year-old chartered accountant Aanvi Kamdar led an adventurous life. With more than 278,000 followers, her Instagram feed highlighted her passion for luxury discoveries, travel, and secret cafés.
As a wanderlust detective, she traveled across monsoon-soaked landscapes to capture the spirit of South Asia in the rainy season.
The Day of Fate:
Aanvi set off on an excursion to the Kumbhe waterfall, located around 80 miles south of Mumbai, on a wet day close to the city. She went with seven buddies and tried to make interesting Instagram clips.
She had no idea that this idyllic setting would serve as the background for a terrible mishap.
The Fall and Slip:
Aanvi stumbled on the rough, slick rocks while filming her reel. The crack under her feet opened up into a 300-foot ravine. Her pals were horrified to see her vanish from sight.
The rescue crew had to deal with heavy rain and hazardous conditions. While they toiled feverishly to free her, large stones dropped all around them.
The 6-Hour Experience:
They fought against the wrath of nature for six excruciating hours. They persevered, climbing up the hillock, rappelling down the slope, and using ropes for support.
When Aanvi was ultimately saved, she suffered serious wounds. After being taken to the hospital immediately, she passed away from her fall.
